What Ymotion keeps, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it.
Last updated 6 September 2026
What we keep
- Your account. Your email address, and your name if you gave one. Passwords are held as hashes by our sign-in provider and nobody here can read one. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name, email address and account id, and nothing else.
- Your clips. The video and audio you upload, so your projects can open them again.
- What we make from them. Transcripts, caption designs, projects and the videos you export.
- Your plan. Which plan you are on, how many videos you have used, and the identifiers Stripe gives us. Card numbers never reach this app.
- Ordinary server logs. Requests, errors and the like, kept briefly so we can fix things and stop abuse.
Who else sees it
A few companies do work we cannot do ourselves, and each one gets only the part it needs.
- OpenAI receives the audio of your clip to transcribe it, and the transcript together with anything you typed about the video to design the captions. OpenAI states that data sent through its API is not used to train its models.
- Cloudflare stores your files.
- Supabase runs the database and the sign-in system.
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Stripe takes payment, and holds the card details itself.
- Resend sends the few emails we send: confirming an address, resetting a password.
- Google, but only if you choose to sign in with it.
Nobody else. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and there is no advertising here to share it for.
Cookies, and what is not here
The cookies this site sets are the ones that keep you signed in, plus one short-lived cookie used while you are signing in with Google. They cannot be read by any script on the page, including ours.
There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker. The page loads no scripts or fonts from anybody else, so simply reading this site tells nobody anything about you.
Getting rid of it
You can delete a clip or a project whenever you like. Deleting a project deletes its file too, once no other project is using it.
To delete your whole account, write to us and we will remove it and everything on it. Backups roll off on their own schedule, so a copy can survive for a short while after that before it is gone for good.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to see what we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to take it elsewhere. Ask us and we will do it. You do not need to cite a law to be taken seriously.
Children
Ymotion is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep anything about one. If you believe we have, tell us and it will go.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that actually affects you gets an email as well.
